How to Turn Off Data Sharing in ChatGPT

 

If you don’t want your ChatGPT conversations to be used to help train the model, you can change one setting in your account.

Step 1: Log in to your ChatGPT account on your computer or phone browser.

Step 2: Click on your profile icon in the bottom left corner of the screen. A small menu will appear.

Step 3: Click on “Settings.” A settings window will open. OpenAI Help Center

Step 4: In the settings window, click on the tab called “Data controls.”

Step 5: Look for the option that says “Improve the model for everyone.” There is a toggle switch beside it. OpenAI Help Center+1

Step 6: Turn this toggle to “Off.”

 

Once this is turned off, your new private chats will still appear in your history, but they will not be used to train ChatGPT’s models.
