Which AI Should Real Estate Agents Use? The Honest Answer

If you have ever typed "best AI tool for real estate" into Google, you already know the problem. Every article gives you a different answer, every list has twenty options, and by the time you finish reading, a new tool has launched.
I hear this question more than any other at my speaking events and workshops: "Ron, which AI should I be using?"
My answer surprises people every time.
Any of them.
That sounds like a dodge, but it is actually the most practical advice I can give you. Let me explain why, and then I will show you exactly which tools I use in my own business.
Why There Is No "Best" AI Tool
The AI landscape changes week to week, and sometimes day to day. The model that tops the charts this month may get leapfrogged next month. We are in the middle of an AI arms race, and the competition between platforms is moving faster than any technology shift I have seen in more than 24 years as a professional trainer.
Here is what that means for you: if you are waiting to identify the perfect tool before you start, you will be waiting forever. The perfect tool does not exist.
The best AI is not some future platform you are holding out for. It is the one you open today.
Stop Treating AI Like a Search Engine
If there is one mindset shift I could hand every real estate agent, it is this one.
AI is not a search engine. It is your assistant.
Think of it as a knowledgeable, patient assistant who is available at midnight, never complains, and never bills you by the hour. That changes how you use it. Instead of typing keywords and hoping for good links, you hand it real work:
"Help me write a listing description for this property. Here are the details."
"I am meeting a nervous first-time buyer tomorrow. Help me organize my talking points."
"Give me ten social media ideas for the spring market."
The more real business tasks you hand it, the faster you discover what it can actually do for you.
The AI Tools I Personally Use
People often assume I subscribe to everything. I do not, and you should not either. Here is how I divide my tools right now:
Writing and text work: Claude and ChatGPT
Images and video: Gemini
Music creation: Suno
That is the whole list. A small handful of tools, each doing what it does best.
And here is the part that matters for your budget. Every major platform, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity, offers a free version. You can start experimenting today without spending a dollar. When your needs grow, the paid tiers are worth the conversation.
But cost is not a reason to wait.
AI Has Good Days and Bad Days
Here is something almost nobody talks about. AI models have off days, and honestly, we often do not know why. It is one of the strangest things about this technology.
Recently, I gave Gemini a task, and it stopped halfway through. No error, no explanation. So I took the exact same task, dropped it into Claude, and it finished the whole thing beautifully.
Same work. Different tool. Completely different result.
That is why I recommend getting comfortable with two or three platforms instead of relying on just one. Not twelve. Not every new tool that launches. Just a couple, you know well enough that when one stumbles, you can hand the same task to another and keep moving.
AI Is More Affordable Than Ever
When I first started researching AI, I was spending nearly $1,200 a month across dozens of specialized tools. Back then, you genuinely needed a separate tool for almost every task. One for writing. One for images. One for video.
Today I am under $200 a month.
Not because I am doing less. Because one subscription can now handle text, images, video, research, and more, all in one place. The consolidation over the past couple of years has been remarkable, and it means getting started with AI has never been more affordable.
If you are just beginning your AI journey, you are starting at a better time than I did.
Your Challenge This Week
Do not research. Do not compare. Do not wait.
Pick one platform, any of the free ones I mentioned above.
Open it.
Hand it one real task from your business this week. A listing, a client email, your open house plan, anything.
Then notice how much time it gave you back. That is time you can spend where it counts: with your clients.
Because the best AI model is not the one you are waiting for. It is the one you open today.
